PTI starts preparation for Intra Party Election....

The PTI Chief Election Commissioner, Mr. Tasneem Noorani, held a meeting with technical professionals at the Lahore LSO office on 13 April 2015. The meeting was held in order to ascertain the strategy and the way forward in respect of cleansing existing PTI voter list and membership data.

Upon meeting and discussion with the technical professional, it was agreed to undertake a pilot project by sending SMS to 80022 members from Kohat and Sheikhupura, and requesting them to respond to message by confirming their names and CNIC if they wanted to be on ‎voter list of PTI. Consequently, those existing members who respond with confirmation of names and CNIC, their list of CNIC numbers will be sent to ECP fortwith on 8300 to obtain verification of their block code numbers. The data obtained from ECP will enable the technical professionals to use the relevant software and compile a list of PTI members union council wise, to be sent to the field to invite objections/corrections of the voter list.

If the aforesaid pilot project is successful this exercise will be repeated for all existing sets/pools of data available.
